Direct Express Balance

If you have a Direct Express Debit Card, it is important to keep track of money coming in and how much is going out. This is important, especially if you are using the card to pay bills and also make purchases at the same time. If you are not careful, you may not have enough money left over to pay the bills if they are set up automatically to be deducted. That is why we recommend checking the balance on your Direct Express Card regularly to not only review completed transactions, but also look at the pending transactions that have not yet cleared, so that you know how much money you have in your account when you get ready to make a purchase. Here is how to check the balance on your debit card.

Option 1: Go Online:

You can check the balance on your card by visiting the main website and logging into your account. If you have never logged in before, you need to create an account. To do so, check out the Direct Express Login page for instructions on how to register a new account. If you are having troubling logging in, make sure you have the correct User ID and password. You can request to have your User ID emailed to you in case you forgot. Just click on the “Forgot User Id” link. You will be required to enter your card number to verify your identity.

Option 2: Call Direct Express

You can call the Direct Express Customer Service number to get your balance information. There is no fee for this and they are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at at 1 (888) 741-1115 (toll-free).

Option 3: Go to a MasterCard ATM

You can check the balance on your card by going to any ATM that displays the MasterCard® logo and get the information. There is no fee if you use a MasterCard ATM and there is no limit to how many times you can get the balance information at the ATM.

You can also request free optional deposit notification and low balance alerts. Another option is to call and have your statement mailed to you. Paper statement will cost you $ .75 per each request.

  1. I can not get in my acct. I have put a new password in when it ask for old password and new password then submit it puts ne back to start. I even tried to create a new acct. it keeps telling me sys. is down

    • Hi Shawn, I dont know if you have your money yet, but i am having the same problem. Money supposedly had been deposited on the 2nd, NOTHING! called to check today NOTHING! When i called later in the day, it said that i had a 0 balance and no PENDING DEPOSITS, Monday is a holiday so Tuesday hopefully i will have the money deposited.

  6. Money supposedly went on my direct express card on the 2nd of this month (9/2/16) so tried again on the 3rd (9/3/2016) still nothing and Monday is a holiday. Everytime i check it says there are “NO DEPENDING DEPOSITS” What is going on here?? Can someone help me??

  8. Need to verify my identity to get my account unlocked. Went to soc sec and they said it was direct expresses job so contact them. They say same back for months now cant access my account. What now?

  9. I always check my PENDING DEPOSIT on the 28th to the 1st and it’s still saying NOTHING IS PENDING what is going on? I checked it Saturday night it was pending it’s now Tuesday and it no longer says PENDING just a balance of $2 please help me! I receive death benefits from my dad never had anything like this happen! Even though it says nothing will be pending until 12 to 24 hours I know that is a lie because I’ve been checking for over 17 years and never had any problems it was always pending especially as of the first ???

  10. I didn’t get a tracking number for my stolen Direct Express card and I need to be able to find out where my new card is. Customer service representative said I could get a Money gram sent to me? Now Everytime I call and they transfer my call I am hung up! Help?!!;!

  11. I called Direct Express my money was deposit on Nov. 1. I went to the ATM and i couldn’t get my money out. So what is going on? I am at the Society Office
