The step required in getting your Direct Express card signed up for Direct Deposit is to first call customer service to activate your card. You can call them toll free at 1 (888) 741-1115. You will be instructed to enter your 16 digit card number, the last four digits of your social security number and your date of birth. You will also need to select a four digit Personal Identification Number (PIN).

Once you complete that process, Comerica Bank, the Direct Express card issuing bank, will notify the Social Security Administration (SSA) that you have a Direct Express debit card account and will give SSA the information it needs to send your benefit payments to your account via Direct Deposit. So, the most important thing you need to do is to sign up for the Direct Express card, and call the customer service number to activate it. Comerica bank will then sign you up with the Social Security Administration for Direct Deposit.

  1. I am having trouble logging into my account, using the name and password that I set up. I do not understand why I am being ask to set up a new login. Is this required each time I use my account?

  2. I need to either find out what my account# and Routing# please?? If I have to set up an account where do I go to do that??
